Mandatory once-a-week watering to begin August 19, 2013
Due to the ongoing drought, the Highland Lakes have dropped below 700,000 acre feet, therefore the Lakeside M.U.D. #3 and the City of Pflugerville will switch to Stage 3 Watering Restrictions on Monday, August 19, 2013.
“When the water supply levels drop below 700,000, the Stage 3 water restrictions are triggered as the Highland Lake Levels are dropping drastically,” Public Works Director James Wills said. “The once-a-week watering schedule will go in effect with enforcement to begin on August 19, 2013.”
In June, the City Council approved updates to the city’s Drought Contingency Plan which adjusted water restriction stages and established water violation fees. In addition, the Plan authorized administrative fees to utility customers for watering violations. The Public Works Department will act on behalf of the city to implement and enforce the actions stated in the Drought Contingency Plan.
