As many of you know, the MUD receives wholesale water service from Manville Water Supply Corporation. The cost of that wholesale water service has increased from $3.50 per 1,000 gallons to $4.00 per 1,000 gallons, effective as of April 1, 2023. As a result of this increase, the MUD’s board of directors has adopted a corresponding $0.50 increase to the volumetric component of the retail rate that is paid by its residents. The current retail water rate charged by the MUD to its residents is comprised of a $16.00 per month base charge, plus the following volumetric charges: $4.65 per 1,000 gallons (0 – 7,000 gallons); $4.85 per 1,000 gallons (7,001 – 14,999 gallons); and $5.55 per 1,000 gallons (15,000+ gallons). The new retail water rate will be reflected on the utility invoices that MUD residents receive this month.
